The Khalil Gibran International Academy (KGIA) opened on September 4th, 2007, in partnership with New Visions for Public Schools, a nonprofit group that has created more than one hundred new small schools in New York City, and the Arab American Family Support Center (AAFSC), a Brooklyn secular social service agency.

The Academy focuses on a rigorous, interdisciplinary currculum using project-based learning, aiming to prepare students for college and successful careers and to foster an understanding of different cultures, a love of learning and a desire for excellence.. With a class of sixty sixth-graders from all corners of Brooklyn, KGIA is the first school in New York City to focus on the Arabic language and Arab cultures.

As a New York City public school, KGIA is open to all students! If you are interested in 2008-2009 enrollment in the sixth or seventh grade, please contact us as soon as possible!

DID YOU KNOW?

KGIA will grow each year, eventually serving grades six through twelve. This year's inaugural class will graduate in 2014!

Welcome
